WeizeneggerFilm ist das unabhängige Produktionslabel der Autorin und Produzentin Birgitta Weizenegger, gegründet im Jahr 2011. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf kreativen Dokumentarfilmen und fiktionalen Projekten, die intime Perspektiven, gesellschaftliche Resonanz und eine poetische Bildsprache miteinander verbinden.
Mit HERBSTFALATTERN 2013, einem Film über Einsamkeit, realisierte Birgitta Weizenegger ihren ersten Spielfilm, der für den Millbrook-Autorenpreis sowie für den Preis des Neuen Deutschen Films beim Internationalen Filmfestival Hof nominiert wurde. Es folgte der hybride Dokumentarfilm IM SCHATTEN DER BILDER (2026), ein Werk über eine bis heute umstrittene queere Künstlerin aus der NS-Zeit, das dokumentarische Elemente mit dem „Queens-Method“-Ansatz verbindet, einem systemischen Verfahren, das im fiktionalen Teil des dokumentarischen Spielfilms angewendet wird.
Darüber hinaus arbeitet die Regisseurin und Autorin für verschiedene Auftraggeber an non-fiktionalen Formaten.

WeizeneggerFilm is the independent production label of author and producer Birgitta Weizenegger, founded in 2011. The focus is on creative documentaries and fictional projects that combine intimate perspectives, social resonance, and poetic imagery.
With HERBSTFLATTERN (2013), a film about loneliness, Birgitta Weizenegger realized her first feature film, which was nominated for the Millbrook Author's Prize and the New German Film Prize at the Hof International Film Festival. This was followed by the hybrid documentary IN THE PAINTINGS´SHADOW (2026), a work about a queer artist from the Nazi era who remains controversial to this day, combining documentary elements with the “Queens Method” approach—a systemic process applied in the fictional part of the documentary feature film.
In addition, the director and author works on non-fiction formats for various clients.
